After a lot of careful research and considering what my realistic options and abilities are in terms of building and financing, I have decided that converting a shed into a tiny house is my best option. This is the model I'll be purchasing (about $7,000 for a 12x20 and they have rent to own) and I can get a loan from the bank to finish out the interior. Plus side is it's still portable, though not as easily as a tiny house built on wheels. But it also has a lot more space so...priorities.
